I was looking for a book that explained the psychology behind online behavior and I couldn't find it, so I decided to dive into this topic and write a book myself based on what I had learned over the years and from academic research . I had this idea in 2012 and today I have more proof of it than ever when I look around. The future of technology will be dictated by the increase in habitual behavior . Let's think about how the interface is narrowing: we have moved from desktop computers to laptops, to mobile devices and wearable technology and, more recently.
To auditory interfaces, those conversational user interfaces where, through Siri and Amazon Echo we have the possibility of speaking with our devices. Each time the interface shrank until it disappeared. You always have less Web Development Services space to interact with people (i.e. to push them to take an action), which means that you cannot send people the usual type of message, such as banners and interruptions that could easily be used on a large screen or monitor. Well, that means habits are more important. An example? If you're not on the home screen of someone's phone, you might as well not exist.
If you are not part of people's daily routine, then you are destined to be lost and forgotten. If we then talk about voice interface, when we think of a product like Amazon Echo or Siri. These products rely on people remembering to use them. Otherwise, products that are made of services, built on these platforms, will never be used. So, habits are becoming more and more important and that's why I wrote "Hooked", because I really want to help product managers and product designers or rather all those who design products and services and who can really benefit us all .
